Summary
A Unitary Authority in England was having difficulty reducing costs to meet budget targets. Using a number of data-mining techniques, WCG consultants were able to identify substantial additional savings, and subjected these to vigorous scrutiny by operational staff of the Authority to ensure that their implementation would produce no unwelcome surprises in terms of reduced service standards or indirect impacts. The sums saved were £1m per year in Children's Services and £0.5m in Culture and Sport.
