Content
High performance in business requires employees who have the skills and knowledge to do the job. It requires maximum application of skills and knowledge to getting the job done, and that is a question of leadership. This course does not just teach about leadership; it develops participants into the kind of leaders they need to be to succeed in their jobs, careers, businesses, lives. Class-time focuses on how the participants can apply the course content to their jobs. The kind of leader you need to be depends on the situation you re in, and even if you have succeeded in one situation you may need to adapt to a new situation. By combining the course content with their own goals and evaluation of their own performance the participants will identify the kind of leaders they need to be to reach their goals. They will learn to apply basic techniques for behaviour change, and the extended structure of the course will provide accountability and reinforcement for sticking to their goals. Every week participants will challenge themselves with a new goal, and every week they will report back to the group on how they did with their last goalContent covered includes:
- Preparation for Leadership
- Goal Setting for Success
- Turning Solutions into Actions
- Managing Your Time
- Communication and Human Relations
- Decision Making and Problem Solving
- Motivation
This is a highly interactive programme which requires participants to thik about how to apply the content to their jobs.
‘It is like having another hour in my day. And with that hour I have taken on another project, and that will be worth £75,000. And I have less stress.’ Andy Burkitt, management consultant, January, 2007
Benefits of Attending
By the end of the course participants will have developed an Action Plan for their career and life. The Action Plan will include a comprehensive programme of goals and will identify leadership attributes they need to develop in order to achieve those goals, and a programme of measurable action steps to achieve those goals.
Benefits begin long before the course ends. By the fourth week participants will show improvements in job performance. Improvements include responsibility, communication, motivation, time-management, and, at the end of the day, productivity.
Course will be run by Jonathan Mueller
